9/11
Thinking back to September 11, 2001, I can still remember everything about that day. I was a freshman in college and felt like I was right where God wanted me to be at the time. I remember initially thinking that what I was seeing on TV was a fake and that this couldn't be happening. I think about and pray for the families who lost loved ones during this tragedy and for those that are still losing loved ones because of this event. I think everyone should stop and take a moment in honor and memory of the lives lost on this tragic day 8 years ago. I know I will. I will be praying for these people not just today but throughout the year. There has been so much sacrifice in our country and we should all be grateful of these men and women. Lift up a prayer today.

It's been awhile
Wow! It's hard to believe that it's been that long since my last update. School has finally ended. It's a bit bittersweet. It's especially hard, knowing that I won't be going back in the fall. I'm going to miss seeing everyone everyday, but thankful that I will have the opportunity to volunteer until we move.
I am, however, excited about the new adventures {not sure that's the word I was looking for} that are coming with starting school again.
Justin has been staying extremely busy with work lately and even working late some this week. We went to a luau at the Chief's mess over at NAS on Friday and we had a blast. There was a photographer there that took some beach pictures for us and I will post some once we get them.
We're heading up to MS this weekend to see the cutest nephew in the world for his 1st birthday. It's hard to believe a year has passed. We'll also get to see my niece while we're up there. I'm so glad my mom and sister are making the trip out to visit for the birthday.
VBS is coming up and I'm hoping that all of my leaders are ready in their areas! Please be in prayer of this exciting week as we are teaching our tomorrow.

Another Awesome Sunday
Church was yet again awesome. We had a great group from Florida Christian College singing today! Andy is doing a bang-up job with his messages. I think I'm getting so much more out of the messages by just sitting and listening than when I have to focus on the sound and tech things.
I've also started watching Newspring's Webcampus. I always enjoyed visiting with them when I was in SC and I had been listening to their podcast, but there's just something different about being able to watch and worship with another group of believers. I'm also in the middle of catching up on their series I Want A New Marriage. I like how Perry Noble tells things like they are....He doesn't sugar coat or tiptoe around certain things that other pastors or churches will tiptoe around afraid of stepping on toes.
Well, off to read some of God's awesome word.

Keeping on keeping on!
Easter came and went and was notably the best Easter I've ever experienced!! This year I was able to celebrate Easter in a way that I have never celebrated. Instead of focusing on Christ dying on the cross, my focus was more on Christ rising. In all my years, it's always been pushed about Christ dying....but many ordinary men died on crosses. Christ is the only one who ever died on a cross and then rose!!! I know I'm late in posting this.....but it's been a pretty hectic week.
In other news, the school year is beginning to wind to a close and I'm getting ready to begin the process of packing up my classroom. It's both exciting and sad all at the same time. I am however excited about hopefully starting classes at Hawai'i Pacific. I'm planning on studying social work while I'm there. Justin is looking at taking some classes somewhere.
Well off to enjoy some company.

A first post
I guess I should post something. It's spring break time and I've been in a creative mood this week, so I thought I should create something useful. I've had several other blogs before, but I've never kept up with any of them. Here I go again, hoping this time to actually keep up with it. I'm planning to use this blog as more of a way to keep people updated on my family and how we're doing as we continue on to more adventures. Hawai`i here we come!!
